The Benham Garden Club funded and dedicated the Benham Coal Miner’s Memorial Wall and Park in 1993. The Memorial Statue of Today’s Coal Miners is in Benham, Kentucky. This memorial is a statue of a coal miner that stands just outside of the Kentucky Coal Museum. The Benham Garden Club erected this statue in 1999 and dedicated it to all coal miners. The plaque at the base of the statue says, ‘In loving memory and tribute to all those who have labored in the coal mining industry.’
